Weezy-F-Baby
Please say the baby, baby.
The Lil Wayne clip in the previous post fitted the context, but does nothing to show the prowess and magnitude of this Lil guys talent. Did you know he has been in and/or produced over 1000 songs in the last year and a bit? He da man. He's intelligent and witty and extremely prolific (try counting his albums and mixtapes).
The Carter is an interesting insight for someone like me, who I would rate as about an 8.5 on the fan scale, mine and Zian’s boyfriends safely scoring a 10. I knew a lot of his music and a lot of facts thanks to the BF but just seeing him working and talking is amazing.
I do listen to Hip hop pretty much exclusively but I would recommend this to anyone interested in music documentaries. Unless you are racist, or some indie fuck head with an aversion to Hip hop, if you are: better fuck off right now, you will LOVE it.
Anyway these are my fav Lil Wayne songs at the moment. (These are eclectic, the first two are off The Carter (extremely hard to get hold of at the mo and the rest are off various mixtapes and CD's) the quality is fairly bad but it gives you an idea.
Ps: looking for a solidly good L.W mixtape? my fav ever is his new-ish one No Ceilings. http://www.datpiff.com/

My flatmate dyed her hair a beautiful shade of purple last night.
You can get permanent versions but food colouring has been the best I have found, I have dyed my hair red, pink, orange and yellow (always in sombre pastel shades, no emo cat calls for moi).
Here is some inspiration to show you I’m not an emo. This legitimizes me, Pffft.
But these are cool shades of purple-urple.

Yes 'Black mags' is a GREAT song by The Cool Kids.
But more to the fashion point, Black magazine.
I remember when this mag first started up, I was, personally, busy drinking and partying like the 18 year old I was. My Friend, the bass player from the band I was in got asked to participate in the first editorial of Black. The stills from the shoot were amazing, it starred young indie/hipster up and coming homos. (sorry Helen) , AND would have been an interesting piece, had it been published.
SO they pulled her shoot but she got a free copy of the first issue so, who's crying?
Anyway, the point I wanted to get at was that they have had some truly amazing editorials cranking lately.
We were skeptical at their selling point at the tender age of 18; they wanted to market themselves to an international market. we thought: ' you're havin a laugh mate'.
But with their array of stylists and photographers, not to mention the beautiful clothing in their issues. I truly think they have succeeded in their goal.

Our room to boom.
It still sounds weird saying 'our'.
It has actually changed since then but still looks cool, actually cooler.

Costume
I think dabbling in costume jewellery is totally A-OK.
Diva and Bling and all thinggs nasty are yes, nasty. However the shapes and ideas these chain stores produce are affordable and beautiful. They chip, they tarnish, they change colour. But at that price you can fill every finger with loud and bright rings. Rings are very important to me and I feel naked without at least two.
An interesting point my friend brought up was the connotations 'costume' jewellery brings to mind, which is that of cheap and shitty qaulity, however often you can get stirling silver or plated jewllery for cheaper than a $400 Karen walker solid silver necklace.
I'm not saying don't have pieces that mean something to you, that you saved for, that you will have forever. I'm just saying dont be snobbish. My jewellery collection is vast and the reason I have so many great options is mostly due to either vintage pieces mixed with costume and a tiny few expensive pieces.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs in my previous post is a good example of this, they are plated so they wont tarnish as fast as something from Diva yet they are certainly not made out of precious metals.
The YSL gaudy rings are another example of this, they are made out of Tin and recycled metal. Good idea if you as me. Beauty affordable.
