Graduate
Anne Sofie Madsen, originally hailing from NZ I presume, is a graduate from Denmark design school and has been causing blogger uproar.
I googled her and found several bloggers had already snapped her up.
She does make good blogging I must say.
Very pleasant on the eyes and I feel like I am allowed to put her on Deadman as its culturally relevant... or something.
Anyhow regardless of her reasons and inspirations behind this collection it is absolutely gorgeous food for the eyeballs. I ripped the blurb she wrote about the collection from Denmark design school because it explains the Maori inspiration and folklore translating into the physically pleasing garments.
Tiki-Mania-Maori
In traditional Maori art the most dominant, mythical motif is the “avianised man” or “bird-woman”. The most important visual art forms are plaiting, relief carving and tattoo.
My idea in this collection was to combine (and confront) this with classic, European clothing - in order to express the contrasts and borders between what we see as primitive/civilianized, exotic/classic and barbaric/elegant.
My idea was not to create bird suits or folk costumes and I decided not to use feathers in the garments and to “translate” the traditional materials of the Maori. I used shoelaces instead of flax strips and exchanged tattooed skin with leather applied on invisible tulle.

The drawings that go with the clothing are amazing and more directly shows the Maori influence with the show of Moko.

Hmmmm
Zara Mirkin, No Mag's main stylist must have been pretty exited about styling this shoot with Alice Delall.
Lets just say; Alice fits rather comfortably into Zara's styling 'Niche'. A great niche, don't get me wrong. I mean we have all been through our shave-a-little-undercut period (If you like that kind of thing, which I happen to) I guess maybe thats why this editorial works so well; Mirkin's fashion taste mixes (seamlessly) with Delall's.
This editorial hits all the G spots for me but yes.. something to ponder I guess. Good old No aye?? Nod to No.
Nod to NO and Nod to BLACK. Heh. Two words I like.
The feature ' Double trouble' comes in two covers for those who like options (as above) I think I like the first, her hair looks a bit doggy in the second. On third and fourth glance this is a beautifully styled and shot piece and I'm sure will stand the test of tyyyymmmee.
It probably helps the shoot some that Alice is the hottest woman alive.
